A wonderful husband!

Hi Everyone,

I know it has been forever since you last heard from us on our blog! I am so sorry! So for a quick update, Jon stayed here instead of going to Hoisington for a month! He was able to move it with no problem! I am finishing up school this week with finals and make up work from our recent stay at the hospital. I am doing much better and glad to be home! I stayed there way too long, even the nurses were starting to get used to Jon and me being around! Before we left several of them came by our room to say bye. I was glad to meet them all; since they will be helping to deliver our little baby! I think it eased my mind a little about the whole delivery idea!

Not only were the nurses and doctors wonderful but so was Jon! He was great during our stay and still even afterwards! I know husbands and wives are to help each other, but he has went far beyond and I am so grateful to have such a wonderful husband! So I wanted to share a few things he did for me while I was sick.

There are so many things I am going to abbreviate I hope they make sense!

1) He let me cry when a student tried to get an IV started and couldn’t! (It was horrible, I don’t cry over IVs)

2) He also told me that I did not have to let students practice on me! (he never told me I had too, I just did it because he was a student and I wanted people to let him practice)

3) He did not laugh at me when I was medicated!

4) He helped me make it to the bathroom in the middle of the night while medicated!

5) He fed me while medicated!! ( I am so glad he did not have a camera to record me)

6) One night he was feeding me cheerios while I continually fell asleep. I thought he was being slow so I fussed at him!! When I WAS THE ONE falling asleep! He was so patient every time he would just say, “honey I am trying but you keep falling asleep……..”

7) He helped me look for the cows when I was medicated. (yes Andrea there are cows outside our Labor and delivery too…weird huh?)

8) He yelled at one of our lovely nurses! (He felt so bad afterwards, but it was so funny to me and her!) She came in really early like 4am, and this poor husband had been up all night with a sick pregnant wife so he was fast asleep. She was checking my vitals and reflexes……well she asked me to sit up. (This action made me very very sick) But I did it anyway, trusting in her. He jumped out of his couch/bed and yelled what are you doing? She gets sick, when she sits up! She said “oh no I am so sorry” He said if you need me to I can get them from her lying down; she said oh no I can do it. She told me how sorry she was and I told her it was absolutely ok. And told her I was sorry for Jon too and told her that he and I both had a long night.

9) He apologized a million times to her when he woke up and realized what happened! She told him that she left our room and read my chart and felt so bad that she asked me to do that. He still told her that he should have never ever talked to her that way! She told him a story about herself, and it was perfectly natural! She also told him, “wait till our little one gets here.” She ended up being one of our favorites!

10) He went grocery shopping for me, when we got home! If you know Jon you know how he hates that chore!!!

There are so many things he did for me and I am grateful! What a wonderful husband!

I also wanted to say that they did an ultrasound of little Addison and she is 6lbs and 1oz. She seems so big to me now, but in a few weeks I know she will seem so small!
